Similar to HMs, Poke’ride allows you to access locations you couldn’t normally. Alola, however; has turned this into a travel service of sorts that extends beyond traversing certain terrain to entirely different areas. If you like, you can think of this feature as a taxi service, but with Pokémon. Much like the games only pokemon that can be ridden will be eligible for this service.
In each town and select areas there are towers that will house pokemon specifically mean for travel. These towers can be reached via phone, or by simply walking to them. A pokemon will be waiting for you to arrive, or it will be sent out to meet the player if they so desire. Poke’ride while not free of charge is fairly cheap, and can be used whenever the player wants. After reaching your destination the pokemon will return to the nearest tower.
It should be noted that this has replaced HMs since we do not use them here. Land, sea, and, air are the available forms of travel via Poke’ride.
