BATTLE RULES : Here at Alola combat isn’t decided by stats, but through a freeform battle system. Players will be expected to use an honor system when it comes to combat. This ranges from the amount of damage you take to dodging attacks. Keep in mind that we still use several aspects from the games, such as types, weather conditions, etc. These elements are covered below.
STATUS EFFECTS: Status effects cover anything ranging from sleep to frozen status. In general, status effects should have reasonable duration (2-3 Posts), especially those that incapacitate enemies such as a stun.
WEATHER EFFECTS: Certain environmental conditions add beneficial or negative results. This can range from the weather, time of day, etc, and the benefits are considered permanent until the battle ends.
TYPE ADVANTAGES: Like with the games, type advantages play a major role in battles. If a fire type pokemon battles an ice type, there is a large possibility of victor for the ice type. Granted, types don’t completely determine the outcome of a battle, but their impact shouldn’t be ignored either.
HELD ITEMS: Held Items are accessories that boost certain skills, or consumables items that restore hp in combat. For example, leftovers, which gradually recovers hp overtime. Of course not all held or in-battle items will reflect their counterparts in the game, because we don't use stats. Most, however; will and those that have been changed will have their differences noted as such in the description.
